Thank you for a great event to all who participated.
Cars and Barns Get Better with age
Classic Cars and Old Barns is a self-paced driving tour and lunch featuring some of the valley’s most iconic historic barns. At each barn, participants will discover a featured “barn find” (aka classic car) and a historic barn tour. The day ends on the banks of the Snake River with lunch and a car line up where participants vote for their favorite car. Classic and exotic car owners are encouraged to drive their unique autos, but the tour is open to all vehicles.
FAQs
"But I've never done a historic barn driving tour." Don't worry, no one has.
When and where does the tour start?
Do I have to drive a classic car to participate?
We ask tour participants to check in at our first barn stop, Jackson Hole Hereford Ranch, sometime between 10 am to 11 am. At check in, you will receive a tour map (printed and digital) and a chance to experience an operational 100-year-old barn.
No, you do not. If it has four wheels, it is welcome on the tour. The event title singles out "classic cars" but we also hope to get some "exotic cars" (limited, rare, and/or exceptionally made).
What is the purpose of the event?
There is a rich story that can be told from the rafters, root cellars, and ribbon display rooms of these old barns. Jackson's built history is often overlooked as 'too young' to be of note. We hope this event will create an opportunity for the community to appreciate the colorful past that is woven throughout our landscapes.
What happens at each stop?
At every stop participants can chose to: check out a staged classic car, take a docent-led barn tour (continuously running), or wander the grounds and explore. There is no set time limit at each stop, but we request that you arrive no later than 1 pm at the fourth barn stop, the Rocking H Ranch, for lunch and the classic car line up and vote.
